What A Weekend

Fourth of July weekend was very eventful for us and we had so much fun! At first, Erik and I thought it was going to be a pretty tame weekend, no real plans at all. We ended up packing lots of fun into the 4 days off:) Friday started off with breakfast at Good Earth (yummy) with Erik and Ian. We then went out on the boat for Ian's first boat ride! Went ok but we weren't going very fast;)
Had to make sure the life jacket fit..little big don't you think?

I think Ian was more enthuised about the constant sucking toy he had on more than anything else!

LOVING the pool! We went to the Barkel's pool on Friday and Sunday afternoon. Ian really loved his first time in the pool..yea!
At the bon-fire on Sunday night with the whole Barkel-Wieringa clan, just hammin' it up:)
On Saturday we went to Hess Lake to the Setsma's Cottage. Uncle Randy and Aunt Jessica asked us to come and we always love it there:) We had a fish fry on Monday with the K-belt's and here he is with Great-Grandma Nagelkirk.

Hope you had fun over the holiday weekend!

garden guests

So this year, we have quite a large garden, larger than last summer and I was super excited for all of the bountiful veggies. We have peas, green beans, carrots, peppers, radishes, potatoes, zucchini, yellow squash, butternut squash, onions and lettuce. Yummo, right?

Well, things were going along great.. until last week. Last week, our garden had some unexpected visitors. That's right, thumper and his friends feasted on our green beans and what was left of our sugar snap peas. We even had a tall fence up around the goods to keep them away, but they were determined little buggers.
The reason I am posting this, is because I need some ideas. Erik is irritated and likes to take care of the problem, if you know what I mean! I on the other hand, want to just keep them away and keep them hopping too.

What do you do to keep the rabbits away?

Guess who's four months old?!

Yes I can't believe it! Ian is already 4 months old and he's getting so big. He's laughing and giggling all the time and rolling over like crazy. We couldn't be more happy. Our lives sure have changed a lot, but we never imagined we would love someone soo much. Here are some random pictures. I know there's a lot, but I haven't posted anything since he was born!
Playing around on his activity mat. Loves it!
Standing on Dad's legs. He loves to stand up! This was on Memorial Day.

First day at the pool! He took his spot right in the shade and played with his feet. His new favorite hobby!

Favorite blanket. BambooLand's Muslin Blanket. Seriously, I wish I had 10 of these things!

Konynenbelt cousin Tulip Time photo shoot! (from the side)

Yeah..kind of hard to get a picture of these two looking at the camera. This was right before the shoe connected with Ian's face...they really do love eachother!

Ian and I at Erik's Birthday celebration. Yup, it's from March! I haven't posted since he was born!

Hanging out with Dad!

I just love this outfit. It's from when he was just a month old or so, but I think it's soo cute!

He's Here!

Introducing Ian Curtis Konynenbelt! Ian decided that he wanted to come a little early and we are very excited he did:)

My water broke Saturday morning and Ian was born early Sunday morning at 2:02 am, weighing 7lb 6 oz and 21 inches. After my water broke we headed to the hospital (I had to call Erik in off of Lake Mac because he was ice fishing..guess what honey?!) Once we got there we waited for labor to really kick in...but little Ian wanted to stay inside so I was induced at 3:00 pm. Slowly but surely I progressed and all of sudden from 11-midnight (one hour!) I went from a 4-9..holy cow..here we go! It wasn't much longer until we were able to meet our healthy baby boy:)

Here are some pictures of the little man. We think he's pretty cute!!!
