Fourth of July weekend was very eventful for us and we had so much fun! At first, Erik and I thought it was going to be a pretty tame weekend, no real plans at all. We ended up packing lots of fun into the 4 days off:) Friday started off with breakfast at Good Earth (yummy) with Erik and Ian. We then went out on the boat for Ian's first boat ride! Went ok but we weren't going very fast;)
Had to make sure the life jacket fit..little big don't you think?
I think Ian was more enthuised about the constant sucking toy he had on more than anything else!
LOVING the pool! We went to the Barkel's pool on Friday and Sunday afternoon. Ian really loved his first time in the pool..yea!
At the bon-fire on Sunday night with the whole Barkel-Wieringa clan, just hammin' it up:)
On Saturday we went to Hess Lake to the Setsma's Cottage. Uncle Randy and Aunt Jessica asked us to come and we always love it there:) We had a fish fry on Monday with the K-belt's and here he is with Great-Grandma Nagelkirk.
Hope you had fun over the holiday weekend!

garden guests
So this year, we have quite a large garden, larger than last summer and I was super excited for all of the bountiful veggies. We have peas, green beans, carrots, peppers, radishes, potatoes, zucchini, yellow squash, butternut squash, onions and lettuce. Yummo, right?
Well, things were going along great.. until last week. Last week, our garden had some unexpected visitors. That's right, thumper and his friends feasted on our green beans and what was left of our sugar snap peas. We even had a tall fence up around the goods to keep them away, but they were determined little buggers.
The reason I am posting this, is because I need some ideas. Erik is irritated and likes to take care of the problem, if you know what I mean! I on the other hand, want to just keep them away and keep them hopping too. What do you do to keep the rabbits away?
